Working with the City of Bloomington, SRF and our partners led the development of a streetscape master plan for the South Loop District of Bloomington. Anchored by the Mall of America and in close proximity to the Minneapolis airport and the National Wildlife Refuge, the South Loop District has a diverse mix of land uses and is experiencing a significant amount of redevelopment. The goal of the South Loop Streetscape Master Plan is to guide the transformation of the area into a walkable urban neighborhood that attracts visitors and residents. Central elements of the plan include a streetscape hierarchy that suggests a vision for pedestrian friendly roadways, an approach to stormwater management that can be seamlessly integrated into the streetscape while still being effective and cost sensitive, and wayfinding and public art strategies that will bring vibrancy to the area.
