Community Outreach

We are passionate about helping others outside of our offices and job sites and giving back to the communities where we live and work.

As part of our company DNA, we seek opportunities to share our talents and resources and build a better future. In 2020, SRF formed our Community Outreach Committee to work in partnership with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to identify opportunities where we can share our skills and passion and support solutions to social and economic inequality. The Community Outreach Committee actively seeks opportunities to build connections within our communities and find pathways to support a diverse workforce at SRF.

The Community Outreach Committee seeks to ensure SRF’s culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion is reflected in our community investments, volunteering engagements, and applicant outreach efforts. We assist the communities where we visit, work, and live with a focus on helping the underrepresented, the marginalized, and those who are in need.

SRF Community outreach vision statement

SRF has an ongoing employee-match donation program to support local small businesses, under-served populations, and community needs. Our inaugural donations went to the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition Northside business support on Minneapolis’s Northside and the Neighbors United Funding Collaboration in Saint Paul. These organizations are committed to raising money to assist in rebuilding efforts in the Twin Cities.

In addition, we support a variety of community needs and programs that are important causes to our employees, including:

  • Adopt-A-Street/Highway programs
  • Holiday food drives
  • Toys for Tots
  • MS 150 Team
  • Watershed Clean-Up
  • First LEGO League
  • School-based partnerships

Meet the SRF Community Outreach Committee

SRF’s Community Outreach Committee was formed to strategically target ways SRF can support our local communities. We are well-positioned to create pathways to forming and supporting a diverse workplace in our field. The committee also seeks to support authentic engagement and collaboration with our communities to break down sources of social and economic inequality.

Committee members actively seek opportunities that support diversity, equity, and inclusion through our actions and partnerships with organizations committed to backing the communities that SRF serves. We recognize that our company is not currently a reflection of the make-up of our community and that it is our duty to make that change happen. We are proud to support causes that are important to our staff members and further foster a welcoming environment for all.
