East-West BRT Environmental Assessment

SRF prepared an Environmental Assessment for the Milwaukee East-West BRT project. The East-West BRT corridor links downtown Milwaukee with diverse neighborhoods; educational institutions; critical community services; and hubs of health care, research, and technology. Multiple north-south transit connections lie throughout the corridor, and BRT investment has the potential to make this an even more vital artery in Milwaukee County’s transit network. BRT presents benefits beyond transit; regional connections via park-and-rides, traffic signal upgrades, and improvements to the built environment near BRT stations can broadly improve mobility and quality of life.

SRF worked with Milwaukee Transport Services and a project management team of local stakeholders to complete the environmental documentation. Our technical analyses included:
