City of East Grand Forks ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan

City of East Grand Forks, Minnesota

Consistent with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Grand Forks – East Grand Forks Metropolitan Planning Organization partnered with SRF to develop an ADA Transition Plan for public rights-of-way within the City of East Grand Forks, MN. SRF’s role was to perform field work and inventories of sidewalks, curb ramps, trails, and pedestrian signals and prepare a federally compliant ADA transition plan. SRF provided cost estimates for ADA improvements and guidance on phasing and prioritization of projects to complete an implementation schedule. SRF also coordinated public and stakeholder outreach for the plan, developed a local grievance procedure, and assembled evaluated various city policies that are relevant to ADA. Deliverables for this project included the plan document, and GIS data set on ADA compliance that the City and its local partners could modify and update as accessibility projects were completed.
