SRF provided transportation planning and public involvement services, supporting the update of the Minnesota Statewide Transportation Policy Plan 2009-2028. Working closely with MnDOT, the effort included:
- Developing and communicating policies, strategies, and performance measures for traveler safety, infrastructure preservation, maintenance and security, national and global connections, statewide connections, mobility in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, mobility in Greater Minnesota regions, community development and transportation, energy and the environment, and accountability and transparency.
- Developing and communicating policies, strategies, and performance measures for all modes moving people and freight in Minnesota, including highways, railroads, aviation, transit, ports and waterways, bicycles, and pedestrians.
The final plan was adopted in 2009 and built on the work done by MnDOT and SRF for the 2003 plan, which won the FHWA 2006 Transportation National Planning Excellence Award.
