Bass Lake Road Reconstruction

Maple Grove, Minnesota

The City of Maple Grove and Hennepin County received Federal Aid to reconstruct Bass Lake Road (CSAH 10) between CSAH 101 and Vicksburg Lane. The proposed improvements included the realignment and reconstruction of the Bass Lake Road and CSAH 101 intersection and 3.5 miles of existing roadways.

SRF provided preliminary design, environmental documentation, and final design services for this multi-phase project.  Roadway reconstruction included revising the current roadway footprint from a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway with storm sewer, realignment of two offset intersections, trails, and three new signal systems. Due to the wide-ranging topography and soil conditions, particularly at Elm Creek, SRF’s innovative design included developing a new bridge over existing stream culverts to allow for trail connections and a stream crossing of Bass Lake Road.
