SRF partnered with Praxis Strategy Group to develop an economic resiliency strategy tothat helps the Souris Basin region of north-central North Dakota recover and thrive in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan was designed to strengthen the region’s economic development capacity and support long-term community vitality.
The strategy focused on identifying key regional needs, such as workforce attraction and retention, and outlining practical solutions to guide efforts across counties, cities, economic development organizations, and nonprofits.
Four pillars of action emerged from the plan:
- Leadership and capacity building
- Small business support
- Community development strategies
- Talent attraction and population growth
SRF and Praxis led a comprehensive stakeholder engagement process, including focus group interviews and an online survey to capture feedback from regional organizations involved in economic development.
The resulting strategy serves as a roadmap for resilient, inclusive growth and a guide for regional partners to align their efforts toward shared goals.
