Plymouth Celebrates Final Phase of the Northwest Greenway Trail System

The City of Plymouth celebrated the completion of the sixth and final construction phase of the Northwest Greenway trail system project last week. This consequential project began nearly two decades ago with a bold vision to preserve natural space and create a connected, accessible green corridor for the residents and visitors.

Spanning more than 300 acres, the Northwest Greenway features 7.7 miles of paved trails, scenic boardwalks, rest stops, a challenge course, and an open-air pavilion. It links nearby neighborhoods, parks, and regional trails, offering Plymouth residents a peaceful escape into nature right in their own backyards.

SRF is proud to have been part of this multi-phase journey from the very beginning. For this last segment, our Parks, Trails, and Recreation team provided design development, final design, and construction administration. This project completed a key trail gap between Juneau Lane and 57th Avenue and included two boardwalks and a rest stop with a bench and bike rack.

This project exemplifies a cohesive blend of environmental stewardship and community dedication.
