The completion of the most recent construction work for the Dodd Boulevard and 179th Street project, a collaborative effort between Dakota County and the City of Lakeville, comes just in time for winter. The realignment project began in spring 2023 and successfully concluded as scheduled in October. However, this milestone only represents a portion of the broader improvements that Dakota County and the City of Lakeville are making to Dodd Boulevard and 179th Street.
Our drone crew captured footage of some of the project’s paving operations earlier this fall.
Construction will ramp up once again in the spring of 2024. During that phase, Dodd Boulevard will undergo construction from Cedar Avenue to Pilot Knob Road and is anticipated to be completed in October 2024. Due to the scale and complexity of the project, the construction process was divided into two seasons. The project team aims to accommodate the convenience of local road users by minimizing detours while also ensuring a thorough and efficient construction process.
