The Highway 10 and 23 Interchange Reconstruction project in St. Cloud, Minnesota, was recognized at American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Minnesota’s annual Engineering Excellence Award (EEA) Gala. This annual event honors engineering firms and their clients for projects that deliver meaningful community value while showcasing creativity and innovation.
As the prime design consultant, SRF worked with Minnesota Department of Transportation District 3 to develop a solution for the interchange area to address safety and mobility. By working with the City of St. Cloud and the St. Cloud Area Planning Organization (APO), the design team engaged the community and other stakeholders early in the design process. This ensured that key community needs were met in addition to the technical and functional aspects of the design.
The result was a completely transformed interchange, a bridge replacement and realignment of westbound Highway 23, and a new overpass across Highway 10. All three features reflect a more inclusive picture of the community’s needs and priorities.
SRF was also part of the Twin Ports Interchange Final Design consultant team, led by SEH. That project was also recognized with an 2026 Engineering Excellence Award.
