Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Stolz is one of the nation’s leading micromobility and motorized traffic program development and data collection experts. She works with clients to identify targeted infrastructure solutions using traffic statistics generated from volume, weigh-in-motion, and classification data. Elizabeth has worked with the most innovative camera counting and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to map and visually discover trajectory lines that show traffic patterns and behaviors of vehicles, buses, bicycles, and pedestrians. With an extensive background in working with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) traffic monitoring program, she is a National Highway Institute (NHI) certified instructor who has taught NHI’s Traffic Monitoring Programs: Guidance and Procedures (TMG) course.
Currently, Elizabeth guides and advises many federal, state, city, county and other regional transportation agencies’ growing traffic data collection programs. She also serves a leadership role on many national committees and projects, including NATMEC, NCHRP, and TRB. Previously, Elizabeth was the Co-Chair of the Highway Traffic Monitoring Committee (TRB-ABJ35), where she was awarded a TRB blue ribbon in 2023 and another blue ribbon in 2024 for her development of the Highway Traffic Monitoring e-Circular publication and for her leadership on developing documentation for all research projects related traffic data collection programs.
