Why did you decide to study landscape architecture?
Every summer, our family would load up the station wagon and Jayco camper and visit national and state parks all over the country. This gave me an appreciation for the great outdoors and being immersed in public open space environments.
What project are you the proudest of, or has been your favorite?
Working on the design and development of Lake Vermilion State Park; it was a unique opportunity to be involved in the creation of a new state park facility that will be a popular recreation destination for many years to come.
What type of projects interest you the most?
Planning, designing, and building any type of public outdoor space environment.
If you weren’t a landscape architect, what would you want to be?
A teacher. I enjoy working with kids in and outside the classroom including coaching youth sports.
How do you spend your free time?
As far as staying active, biking, running, and cross country skiing are my favorites. I also enjoy attending any type of theater or music event, and working in the yard on the weekends.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
New York City is on the to-do list. There’s a lot to see, but taking a stroll through Central Park would be the highlight for me.
