Jimoku Salum Key Contributor to Award-Winning ITE TrafficWiki Project

SRF Transportation Engineer Jimoku Salum, PE, was a key contributor and collaborator on the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) TrafficWiki project, which recently won the 2024 ITE Council Project Excellence Award.

Project development of the TrafficWiki tool began in 2022 June with the goal of converting the print version of the Traffic Engineering Handbook to an online web format. Today, the online tool functions as a “one-stop-shop” for traffic engineering knowledge, standards, and practices, essentially replacing the traditional Traffic Engineering Handbook.

During the development process, Jimoku volunteered his time, working on synthesizing intersection and safety studies with partner Priyanka Alluri.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the collaborative efforts of Francisca Kasubi and Abdallah Kinero, whose invaluable contributions greatly enriched our work. Their insights and input significantly enhanced the quality and effectiveness of our synthesis, reflecting the spirit of collaboration that underpins the development of the ITE TrafficWiki.
