Hanson Boulevard Railway Grade Separation Named 2019 CEAM Project of the Year!

CEAM Project of Year Hanson Boulevard

The Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railway Grade Separation project was named the 2019 Project of the Year by the City Engineers Association of Minnesota today! SRF collaborated with Anoka County, the City of Coon Rapids, and BNSF Railway on this important safety and mobility improvement effort. More than 75 trains travel the most active rail line in the state each day, and traffic on Hanson Boulevard was projected to continue to increase, warranting construction of a new bridge over the railroad and a pedestrian underpass.

SRF project manager Chris Trboyevich stated, “This project is the culmination of years of collaboration between the State of Minnesota, City of Coon Rapids, Anoka County and BNSF, and the safety of roadway users was of paramount importance. Construction was challenging due to the extensive utilities in the corridor and working along the active railway, but through collaboration and teamwork we made it work.”
