Future City Competition – Minnesota Regionals

Minnesota’s Future City Competition recently wrapped up another successful year. We’re excited to announce that the team mentored by SRF staff members Nina Stanley and Lisa Breu, Wolfish from Orono Middle School, won first place at Regionals.  This is the second year in a row a team mentored by SRF has advanced to the national competition. Team Wolfish also received the award for Best Transportation System, which is sponsored and awarded by SRF. The team will be traveling to Washington DC for the national competition February 14-18, 2015.

The Future City Competition is designed to help middle school students learn more about engineering in an imaginative and active way. This year’s competition was the biggest one yet, with more than 60 teams participating. SRF has been a long time supporter of the Annual MN Future City Competition and this year was no different – 13 staff members from SRF volunteered as team mentors, competition judges, special award judges, essay judges, and SimCity™ judges.
