SRF partnered with Washington County and the Gateway Corridor Commission to complete a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) for the Gateway Corridor Gold Line bus rapid transit project, which will run from Saint Paul to Woodbury, Minnesota. The HIA gathered input from targeted community engagement to decide on several “health indicators” that are important to people in the corridor, and evaluated how connectivity, jobs, housing, and personal and physical safety are related to the built environment near each of the proposed Gateway stations. The results of the HIA will help to inform upcoming station area planning efforts, comprehensive plan updates, and local land use controls.
