Our dynamic and successful Structures Group is seeking a full-time Entry Level Structural Engineer. This position would be based in our Madison, WI office. The position would primarily focus on in-state transportation projects but would also assist our structural team on a variety of projects throughout the Midwest. Typical projects would involve design, load ratings and/or inspection of bridges, retaining walls and culverts/tunnels.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist registered Engineers in developing designs, plans and specifications for construction ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Perform structural design calculations for projects of varying complexity using hand calculations, analysis software, and other accepted methods.
  • Perform periodic field inspections for data collection and to confirm structures are being constructed in accordance with the design.
  • Assist in generating engineering reports
  • Create drawings using Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk Civil 3D or Revit
  • Perform bridge inspections and load ratings, with periodic travel required.
  • Ensure SRF’s quality procedures are maintained for all work.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum B.S. in civil engineering with a structural emphasis; master’s degree in structural engineering is a plus.
  • 0 – 2 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Experience with CAD is a plus.
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
