Why did you decide to study landscape architecture?
I was drawn to the broad spectrum of work that landscape architects do and the potential for improving communities through designing better public spaces.
How did you get started in the field?
I started a company building cattle and horse fences, which got me interested in design. Landscape architecture was a much better fit than other design fields for me.
What drew you to SRF?
I appreciate the multidisciplinary approach to projects at SRF. It is rewarding and fun to work with a diverse team of professionals on a variety of projects.
What are your favorite hobbies and interests outside of work?
My family makes maple syrup in the spring and we tap 70 trees, which yields about 20 gallons of syrup.
What is your favorite park?
Gooseberry Falls State Park is my favorite because there are great hiking and skiing trails (including the Superior Hiking Trail), and the falls are exciting to visit in all seasons.
