Intern Spotlight

At SRF we value our hard-working interns and all that they do. To show our appreciation we are showcasing each one of them.  Learn more about our Internship and Co-Op opportunities.

Mason: Mason works with our project controls group in our Minneapolis office. Mason has just graduated from high school and is looking forward to studying either computer science or civil engineering. He chose to intern at SRF because he enjoys “the work and projects that there are to do.” Mason’s interest in civil engineering and 3D design also makes working for SRF interesting for him – Mason’s day to day tasks include creating 3D models of future job sites to make realistic renderings of the final project plans and find solutions to problems within the programs. Mason is looking forward to integrating more advanced techniques that will make the renderings look better. Awesome work Mason!
Sean: Sean is an intern in our forecasting group in our Minneapolis office, and is in his second year of graduate school at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He chose his field of study because he wants to try his best “to reduce the congestion on the road and make people spend less commute time.” He has been working with SRF for the past six months and appreciates the helpful, team-spirited atmosphere, and how people are willing to assist him in his learning. During his time at SRF, Sean has worked on the I-35W and County Road J interchange updates, as well as the TH 169 and 101st Ave interchange environmental assessment. Looking forward, Sean would like to continue learning more about “reducing congestion on the road to make people spend less commute time.” Thanks for all your help Sean!
Maaz: Mazz is a traffic studies intern in our Minneapolis office. Maaz, a senior at Iowa State, chose a civil engineering degree because “as Civil Engineers, we make civilizations move forward.” Specifically focusing on traffic studies, Maaz wants to help contribute to the innovative transition to driverless/self-driving cars and wants to see his work become a reality in the future. Maaz believes SRF can help him polish his engineering skills to an optimum level. Specifically, Maaz will be working on data collection, traffic modeling, data analysis etc. Maaz is most looking forward to mastering interacting and communicating with clients in a professional and efficient way. We’re happy to have you as part of the team, Maaz!
