As a regional leader in data analytics and travel modeling, we provide insightful transportation forecasts for some of the largest, most complex transit and roadway projects in the region.  We are currently seeking a Travel Demand Modeling Leader to join our Transportation Division in the Minneapolis or Saint Paul, MN office. In this role, you will provide technical expertise, staff guidance, strategic leadership, and management of a variety of modeling and analysis of transportation projects at the system, corridor, and project level. Project work would include freeway and arterial demand, transit ridership, pedestrian and bicycle modes or other transportation system analysis. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing travel models, results or methodology documentation
  • Managing demand modeling and analysis tasks and/or projects
  • Day-to-day supervision of travel demand modeling team
  •  Serve as a travel demand / forecasting expert with internal company groups and external clients
  • Advancing SRF’s regional and national presence in travel demand modeling through business development and engagement in local and national groups
  • Staying current in travel modeling and data analytics trends

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning or civil engineering; master’s degree with strong emphasis in transportation fundamentals preferred
  • 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in travel demand modeling-related highway and transit projects
  • Understanding of local and national data sources for transportation analysis
  • Ability to lead multiple tasks and manage projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven technical and plain language writing ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills
  • Strong mentorship and staff development skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications including experience with any travel demand modeling and other programming software (Citilabs CUBE, TransCAD, STOPS, r, ArcGIS, Python, word processing, spreadsheets etc.)
