As a regional leader in data analytics and travel modeling, we provide insightful transportation forecasts for some of the largest, most complex transit and roadway projects in the region.  We are currently seeking a Travel Demand Modeler to join our Madison, WI office. In this role, you will provide technical expertise, leadership, and management of a variety of modeling and analysis of transportation projects at the system, corridor, and project level. Project work may include freeway and arterial demand, transit ridership, pedestrian and bicycle modes or other transportation system analysis. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing travel models, results or methodology documentation
  • Managing demand modeling and analysis tasks and/or projects
  • Day-to-day involvement with our travel demand modeling team
  • Advancing SRF’s regional and national presence in travel demand modeling through business development and engagement in local and national groups
  • Staying current in travel modeling and data analytics trends

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning or civil engineering; master’s degree with strong emphasis in transportation fundamentals preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in travel demand modeling-related highway and transit projects
  • Understanding of local and national data sources for transportation analysis
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven technical and plain language writing ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications including experience with any travel demand modeling and other programming software (Citilabs CUBE, TransCAD, STOPS, r, ArcGIS, Python, word processing, spreadsheets etc.)
