SRF Consulting Group, Inc., is seeking a Senior Travel Demand Modeler to join our Traffic Studies/Forecasting Group in the Minneapolis or Saint Paul, MN office. You will have the opportunity to become the travel demand modeling practice leader. You will provide technical expertise, guidance of other staff, strategic leadership, and management of a variety of modeling and analysis of transportation projects at the system, corridor and project level. Work includes including freeway and arterial corridors, transit corridors, pedestrian and bicycle modes or other transportation analysis. Follow this link to see a sample of our projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing travel model and results or methodology documentation
  • Providing technical guidance and insight to other team members
  • Managing demand modeling and analysis tasks and/or projects
  • Working with internal company groups and external clients
  • Advancing SRF’s regional and national presence in travel demand modeling through business development and engagement in local and national groups
  • Progressing into role as travel demand modeling practice leader for company

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in planning or civil engineering with a strong emphasis in transportation fundamentals
  • 10+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in travel demand modeling-related highway and transit projects
  • Understanding of local and national data sources for transportation analysis
  • Ability to lead multiple tasks or manage projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven technical and plain language writing ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and experience with any travel demand modeling software (Citilabs CUBE, TransCAD, STOPS, r, ArcGIS, Python, etc.)
