Engineering Intern for Intelligent Transportation Systems Position

Engineering Intern wanted for the planning, design, deployment, and evaluation of intelligent transportation systems.

Responsibilities Include:

We are seeking a motivated individual that is looking for the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in planning, design, integration, testing, construction oversight, and field troubleshooting of intelligent transportation systems.  You will be applying these skills in one or more of the following areas: intelligent work zones, traveler information systems, traffic detection systems, traffic surveillance systems, communication systems, connected vehicles, and automated vehicles.  Main responsibility will include creating ITS device layouts and performing daily tracking and monitoring of intelligent work zone systems.

SRF would consider part-time employment starting as soon as possible (minimum of eight hours per week / four hours per day) continuing part-time through the school year until full-time employment as an intern during summer 2020.  Work schedule should be during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm out of our Minneapolis office.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Progressing toward a BS in an applicable field of engineering (civil, electrical, computer science, etc.)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Microstation and/or AutoCAD are a plus
  • Must return to school to complete degree
