Khani has an unparalleled understanding of transportation issues and needs at all levels of government. He brings a wealth of civil and structural engineering experience from his distinguished career at the Minnesota Department of Transportation, where he most recently served as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Engineer.
Prior to that, Khani served as the MnDOT Metro District Engineer where he oversaw the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of interstate and trunk highway systems in the eight-county Twin Cities metropolitan area. Khani held other MnDOT leadership positions, including MnDOT Assistant Metro District Engineer for Program Delivery and Assistant State Bridge Engineer, and spent many years in State Aid management positions. In addition to regional business development, Khani contributes to high-profile multidisciplinary projects at SRF.
Khani is a member of the National and Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, Minnesota Transportation Alliance, Transit for Livable Communities, Sustainable Land Use Coalition, and American Council of Engineering Companies.
