SRF Consulting Group, Inc. is a vibrant, well-established planning, engineering, and design firm seeking a senior wetland scientist/habitat specialist to work in a team atmosphere. SRF’s highly experienced environmental staff work for a variety of federal, state, local, and private industry clients across the Midwest. We are seeking a Senior Wetland Scientist/Habitat Specialist to join our team located at our Minneapolis, MN office. In this role, you will work in a variety of environmental fields including, but not limited to:

  • Wetland Delineations and Functional Assessments
  • Wetland Mitigation Design
  • Environmental Permitting
  • Botanical and Habitat Surveys
  • Erosion Control Design and Inspection
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Environmental Documentation
  • Water Resource Planning
  • Habitat Management

The successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, or closely related field. In addition to the educational requirements the candidate should have a strong background in plant identification and 5-10 years of wetland delineation and permitting experience utilizing the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual, the Midwest and the Northcentral and Northeast USACE Regional Supplements, the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act, and Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources guidance. A Wetland Professional Certification is strongly preferred. Additional experience in the following categories is requested:

  • Mapping using ArcGIS
  • GPS Data Collection
  • Experience in AutoCAD or Microstation
  • MnDNR Public Waters Permitting and NPDES Permitting
  • Biological Surveys

This position requires strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs., color vision, the ability to traverse uneven ground while conducting field work, ability to work in exposure to inclement weather (heat and cold), and travel.
