We are seeking a full-time Estimator/Scheduler to join the growing Project Controls Group in our Minneapolis office. As an Estimator/Scheduler, you will have the opportunity to work on transportation projects including Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail Transit, and complex roadway/bridge projects. A candidate located in the Minneapolis metro area is preferred, but a hybrid or even fully remote position will be considered to find the best candidate.  Growth opportunities include leading estimate/schedule efforts, training/developing younger staff, and implementing new strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates/schedules at all project levels including conceptual, 30/60/90 percent design and during construction
  • Develop estimates/schedules for use in all areas of business lines
  • Utilize major software tools such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, AGTEK, Trimble Business Center, Primavera P6 and Acumen. Understanding and fluency in those software tools preferred, but training will be provided upon hire
  • Develop project estimates/schedules in accordance with company standards
  • Use strong interpersonal skills in client interactions
  • Ability to maintain budget for work
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Related 2- or 4-year degree, OR 2+ years’ relevant experience without degree
  • AACE International certifications preferred, other Cost or Schedule certifications may be considered
  • Contractor project experience, heavy civil experience preferred
  • Prior MnDOT experience in cost and schedule functions
  • Fluency in all phases of design development, construction, environmental and planning efforts
  • Strong ability to understand cost/schedule/risk relationships
  • Ability to promote and perform in a team environment
  • Ability to support conceptual cost efforts for transportation projects
  • Ability to build cost estimates and schedules from the beginning stage
  • Ability to write Basis of Estimate/Schedule to AACE International standards
  • Great transparency in work product
  • Strong communication skills and ability to successfully interact with clients
