We are currently seeking a full-time Construction Engineer to join our growing Construction Services Group in our Fargo, ND office. SRF’s Fargo Office serves clients in North Dakota and western Minnesota that include state DOTs such as NDDOT and MNDOT, Cities, and Counties.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Construction Engineering services such as documenting construction activities, interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, and providing project oversight and inspection.
- Assists construction engineering teams with documentation, including written reports of the daily field observations of construction activities and the measuring & calculating of quantities.
- Effectively communicates with supervisor/project manager on a regular basis to provide updates on construction progress or issues in the field.
- Responsible for verifying compliance with the plans and specifications, including material sampling and testing.
- Prepare pay estimates, change orders and other project related documents.
- Committed to following the Quality Management Plan and ensures the client’s QC/QA plan is being followed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 0-4 years’ of related work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Uses independent judgment in solving construction challenges.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods of time, and to work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Experience with administration of contracts for highway and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Ability to become a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of North Dakota and Minnesota within three years.
