SRF Named Program Management Consultant for Rochester’s Destination Medical Center Plan

The City of Rochester has named SRF Consulting Group as the Program Management Consultant (PMC) for their extensive transportation and infrastructure program that will support the Mayo Clinic’s Destination Medical Center (DMC) vision – the State of Minnesota’s largest-ever economic development project aimed at securing Rochester’s position as the premier global medical destination.

A public-private partnership, the DMC is designed to leverage the growth of Mayo Clinic and other businesses and institutions within Rochester to create economic opportunity for the local community, the State of Minnesota, and the entire region. In addition to creating tens of thousands of new jobs and generating billions in new tax revenue, the DMC also intends to confirm Minnesota’s status as the leading global destination for health care and medical advancement.

The Mayo Clinic, along with other private entities, anticipates investing more than $5 billion into the downtown Rochester area over the next 20 years. Investment by the State of Minnesota, the City of Rochester, and Olmsted County will help fund the public infrastructure required to keep pace with private investment. Supporting the Mayo Clinic’s investment into the community, the City of Rochester will be responsible for approximately $550 million in transportation and infrastructure improvements.

As the PMC, SRF’s primary role will be to work alongside the City of Rochester to manage the delivery of the transportation and infrastructure recommendations for the DMC vision.
